I'm in Singapore for the weekend with my father. He flew in from the states and has some business to take care of before flying on to India. I haven't been here for 10 years! It's still clean and organized, just like I remember. It's also a nice change to be able to understand everything and be understood, since English is ubiquitous, unlike in Thailand.
I've been sort of avoiding visiting Ha Noi since I moved to Bangkok in August because I wanted to give myself the chance to settle into life in my new city without the distraction of missing Ha Noi all the time. It's worked. I love my life in Bangkok. But now that I'm back in Ha Noi for Tet, I have to say, my heart is still here, and I wouldn't hesitate to move back if the opportunity arose. I've been here for a couple of days now, and despite battling a really bad cold, I'm having a great time celebrating Tet with friends and family. [Read Full Post with Pictures]
